Successful
Leadership Warner Robins Yard Sale
Raises Funds for Camp Wings!
Several community members came out to support
and donate to the
Leadership
Warner Robins yard sale for
Camp Wings,
held
last Saturday at the Chamber. The
class raised nearly $900.00 in efforts to allow
children to attend the fall camp- hosted by
Heart of Georgia
Hospice.
Prior to the yard sale, community members
donated items in support of the project.
Several
Leadership WR class participants also
cleaned out their closets in order to contribute
to the sale. Tucker Haught, owner of
Mid-Town Self
Storage generously donated an empty
storage bin for the class to store the items
prior to the yard sale.
Heart of Georgia Hospice Inc. offers
Camp Wings,
a bereavement camp, to children ages 6-16 who
have lost a loved one. This camp is designed to
help children understand that they are not
alone, and that their feelings of grief and loss
are normal, with the help of a safe and
supportive environment in which to express their
feelings. This year’s program is scheduled to
be held from November 6-8, 2009 at Camp Martha
Johnston in Lizella, GA. The funds collected
during the yard sale will help fund
Camp
Wings’
operation costs as well as aide in the purchase
of food and other items for the duration of the
camp weekend. The mission of the 2009
Leadership WR
class is to help Heart of Georgia Hospice meet
these needs.
Saturday’s yard sale was one of many fundraisers
the
Leadership WR class will undertake
this year. The class will also host several car
washes in order to raise more funds for the
two-day camp.
Monetary donations are always appreciated and
should be made out to
Heart of Georgia

The Warner
Robins Area Chamber has
been selected as
one
of three FINALSTS for 2009 CHAMBER OF THE YEAR
for a chamber in our size category by the
American Chamber of Commerce Executives.
The final round of judging will take place in
July and the winner will be announced in Raleigh,
NC on July 31. The other two finalist
chambers are in Columbus, IN and Southern Pines,
NC.
